SecuGen Hamster Pro
The Hamster Pro is SecuGen’s ultra-compact, high image quality USB fingerprint reader that is very low priced and suitable for large deployments. Featuring a low-profile and water-resistant design, the Hamster Pro is built with the industry’s most rugged and advanced optical sensor using patented fingerprint technology. The Hamster Pro can be used for authentication, identification and verification functions that let your fingerprints act like digital passwords that cannot be lost, forgotten or stolen.
Hamster Pro compact optical fingerprint reader from SecuGen is designed for desctop or mobile applications, which require a fingerprint scanner for a reasonable price.
The manufacturer specifies that the reader is based on a rugged sensor, which is also resistant to scratches, impacts and electrostatic shock. Also specified that the scanner rejects latent fingerprints and 2-D spoof fingerprint images (i.e. photocopies), as well as captures problematic fingerprints like dry, moist, aged or scarred.
